What is Alodine?
Alodine is a chromate conversion coating applied to aluminum parts to enhance corrosion protection while still maintaining conductivity. It is also used to prepare aluminum parts before primer and paint to improve the adhesion.

Alodine is also referred to in prints as "Chem Film" "Chemical Conversion" and "Irridite"

The coating thickness is typically only .00001" - .00004"

Type I - Contains Hexavalent Chromium (non RoHS) GOLD

Type II - No Hexavalent Chromium (RoHS Compliance) CLEAR

Class 1A - Maximum corrosion protection
- Improves adhesion of paint finish systems
- Less conductive
- Thicker Coating

Class 3 - Good corrosion protection
- For Electrical and Electronic Applications where low resistance is required
- More conductive
- Thinner coating
